Kavarna is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday with many attractions. It is in the Bulgarian region of Dobrich and is situated on the Black sea coast less than an hour’s drive from Varna Airport. It has an excellent beach, and the apartment is in a great location near the town centre and only a short distance from Kavarna Bay. (5 minutes by car or bus or about a 25 minute walk.)
Kavarna beach is a great place to swim and relax. On the seafront you will find a number of restaurants offering a range of dishes including locally caught fish. Various water sports are available.
Karvarna town has many shops, bars and restaurants and prices are very cheap. Places to visit include the Archaeological Museum, football stadium, basketball stadium, tennis courts, churches and market.

Bulgaria is applying to join the European Union. The town of Karvarna retains its old charm. You will still see horse and carts in the streets and simple agriculture in the fields surrounding the town. In the town market fresh local produce is widely available.
The Kavarna countryside is a good place for bird watching. Interesting places to visit close to the town include the Kaliakra Cape: - a beautiful, internationally famous, nature reserve. From the beach and the cliffs dolphins may be seen in the sea, while numerous sea birds nest on the cliffs.
The cliffs of the Kaliakra Cape are associated with the Legend of the Forty Maidens, who plaited their hair together and jumped from the cliffs, committing suicide in the name of Christianity. As well as its natural beauty, the Kaliakra Cape also offers tourist stalls selling traditional Bulgarian crafts made by local artists.
The remains of the ancient town Chirakman are also nearby. The ruins of one of the oldest early Christian basilicas in South East Europe can be seen here, as well as the ruins of ancient city walls.
The port of Balchick with its historical Botanic Gardens is not far away, and there are the cities of Varna and Dobrich to explore.
Kavarna is developing its attractions as a resort for golfers. A number of golf courses are being built nearby with Gary Player and Ian Woosnam involved in the planning.
For the independent traveller who wants to get away from the typical package holiday, Kavarna offers a large array of activities and the apartment is ideally situated to explore the town and the surrounding areas.
